Brighton rallies twice to draw Stoke
An exhilarating match between Brighton & Hove Albion and visiting Stoke City on Monday night resulted in a 2-2 draw that saw the hosts fall behind twice only to equalize both times.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting opened the scoring, albeit against the run of play, in the 28th minute after Xherdan Shaqiri floated a masterful long ball into the penalty area that dropped delicately onto the striker's right foot.
The first 45 minutes closed with a flurry of action as Davy Propper found Pascal Gross with a cross to draw the Seagulls (4-4-4) level in the 44th minute, however Stoke City (3-4-5) regained the lead less than two minutes later when Kurt Zouma was left unmarked following a corner kick in the final moments of the half.
Stoke City ultimately conceded an equalizer in the 60th minute when Jose Izquierdo pounced on his own rebound and found the back of the net from a difficult angle.
The recently promoted Brighton & Hove Albion are now unbeaten in their last five Premier League games.
