Analysis: Hendricks was lifted for a pinch hitter in the Cubs' five-run fourth after giving up four runs in the top half of the inning. He has now allowed nine runs over nine innings in his last two games after yielding just nine runs over 36.2 innings in his previous six starts. He makes his next start Friday against the Rockies, whom he limited to three runs over 6.1 innings on May 10.

''Once the game started going, I started to find my groove a little bit,'' Hendricks said. ''By the fifth inning, it was pretty good. The sixth was really good. I just needed to get into a groove.'' He'll face the Pirates on Friday, and went 3-0 with a 0.47 ERA while striking out 21 and walking one over 19 innings against them last year.
